In a surprise turn of events, the Federal Government funded solar hot water rebate was cancelled last Tuesday with no reason given. Homeowners and the solar system industry were given no notice that the scheme, which was due to end in the second half of this year, was to be cancelled. The solar rebate has cost the Government some $320 million dollars to date.

Homeowners who have not ordered and paid a deposit by the 28th February will now not be able to claim the rebate.
